If your kitchen feels a little dated or lacks storage space, you may be considering a kitchen makeover. Not sure where to start? Read on to find out how one interior design Instagrammer transformed her simple monochrome kitchen into a welcoming space with room to enjoy a coffee and a chat at breakfast time.
Before
Late last year, interior design Instagrammer Sarah (aka – mydreamhome_usplus6), reached out to us for some advice regarding her latest kitchen makeover.
The plan was to upgrade her black counter tops to a more homely oak finish and panel the cupboard doors to mimic the shaker style. She also wanted something to fill the centre of the room, having donated her glass table and chairs to her mum.
With five children, a hubby and a dog to contend with, Sarah realised that her busy family could benefit from some extra storage and counter space. She was looking for some sort of unit on which to display flowers, store jars and serve dinner from.
But with only a relatively small area to work with and dreams of a kitchen island, Sarah wasn’t sure exactly which piece of furniture to go for.
That’s where we stepped in…
After
To complement her newly panelled cupboard doors and more traditional oak counter tops, we recommended the Florence Breakfast Bar in white.
With tapered legs for a streamlined look and slatted shelves to allow light through, this stylish breakfast bar is ideal for small kitchens. And it didn’t disappoint. This was Sarah’s reaction to her new piece of furniture:
“It’s incredible I actually cried when I put it up in the kitchen… The breakfast bar has changed this space and how we use it. To sit around having chats and drinking our morning coffee together means we never leave the room!”
Not only does it offer space to store items like crockery and jars on the shelves below, the Florence Breakfast Bar also comes with a handy hidden tray and extendable chopping board for more room when preparing food.
If that wasn’t enough, its hard-wearing acacia wood top is stain- and heat-resistant, with natural anti-bacterial properties meaning it can double up as an extra worktop when cooking.
Highlighting the Florence Breakfast Bar’s incredible versatility, Sarah told us recently that her children have even been using it as a desk: “The kids use it every day for home-schooling too, it’s been a total god send to us.”
Available in a choice of four colours to suit your theme, you can now get your very own Florence Breakfast Bar at a special discounted rate for a limited-time only on our online store.
